Nice but Pricey Treats

I love the fact that most of their products are vegan. And they have lots of choices! We tried the tiramisu cube and Biscoff cube from Arapina Bakery in Deptford. While the fillings were creamy and delicious, the pastry itself was a bit dry. At £11.50 for two pieces, it felt quite steep for what we got. A nice treat, but not sure it justifies the price!

Pros: Varied vegan sweet and savoury products , Tasty and original

Cons: Expensive

Perfect Vegan Brunch

Anastasia was very patient whilst I worked through all the delicious vegan baked items. Went for a vegan breakfast sausage kroll which was super tasty and as a takeout, a cinnamon bun, macarons and a raspberry kroll. Hubby went for an avocado on rye which was equally delicious. Staff super helpful with my onion allergy. Nice location, good view of the kitchen and outside seating is a bonus. Would highly recommend!

Pros: Great choices, Huge vegan range, Helpful and friendly staff

Cons: Limited seating

Great options!!

Surprised to read bad reviews on here, came to tick this place if my list! Had the almond croissant which tasted amazing! So much filling really great and filling. Have bought the biscoff cube croissant home for tomorrow so hope it tastes just as good 😊

Pros: Choice, Nice vibe , Almond croissant

Insult to croissant and pain au chocolat

When reading the previous reviews I thought it was weird because the pictures of the food seemed really appealing… well, I can only confirm what has already been said. Both the croissant and pain au chocolat were dry and over cooked. I didn’t like the cinnamon roll frosting. The pain aux raisins was ok. Really disappointed, maybe they are just not good at French pastry and I should have tried something more basic like a brownie, I don’t know. Wouldn’t go back.

Lovely place

The vegan pastries are very impressive! Most of them are really tasty, as well as good looking. I believe the only thing I didn’t really enjoy were the macaroons which I found a little bland. I also wish they had a better vegan savoury selection but I’d nevertheless recommend this place!

Arapina

I’ve had this place bookmarked for a while after seeing all the wonderful photos of the vegan pastries online, so I was very excited to finally make my way over.

Basically, all of the pastries were vegan, except for a few savory things. This was a wonderful surprise. I ordered the chocolate croissant and, at the recommendation of the staff, the pistachio croll. The chocolate croissant was the best of the two but seemed stale. The pistachio croll was very disappointing, as it was very dry / stale and tasted more like regular bread. I didn’t care for the pistachio filling. I personally wouldn’t order these two things again. It’s really a shame, because the food looks so beautiful and stunning, and staff were incredibly friendly, but the flavor and textures just weren’t there for me.

Good looking vegan choices but not very tasty

I love how the vegan pastries look like but I didn’t like the sweet ones. We tried 2 sweet ones and a savoury one and I would not like to try the sweet ones again.
Way too much filling in the raspberry one and the chocolate and almond one tastes like a cleaning product.

Vegan Pastry Heaven

Although not a vegan café, they offer a large selection of vegan options throughout the day which don’t disappoint. We have eaten here many times and the staff are always friendly and welcoming.

The Sausage Croll is a perfect brunch option with a coffee (milk alternatives available). Definitely worth a visit if you love pastries!

Pros: Large selection of vegan options, Friendly staff, Plenty of seating (however can get busy)

Cons: Outside is a bit of a wind trap on colder days, It’s a working bakery and so can be noisy at times

Tasty Pastries, Dreadful Experience

Very tasty vegan pastries. Coffee is poor. Service was abysmal. No warmth, bordering on hostile. I rarely write negative reviews but I feel like this is public service.

Prezzi molto alti!

Pros: Cinnamon Roll meraviglioso

Cons: Prezzi molto alti

Loads of great options 🥐

What a cute little cafe! I really enjoyed the raspberry croll and the savoury rainbow pastry. They both had delicious filling and the pastry was perfect. The coffee was good too. I wasn’t crazy about the tiramisu cube, it looked beautiful, but the edges were quite dry. All the food is very clearly labelled vegan or vegetarian. I’ll definitely be back to try some more things!

Amazing bakery

I’ve wanted to visit this bakery for ages and it didn’t disappoint. It’s only a 15 min walk from the Cutty Sark so worth the visit if you’re in the area. The croissants are really amazing with such amazing flavours you rarely find for vegans. The service from Anastasia was 10/10. Will definitely be back again.

Pros: Choice , Quality , Service

Worth the 50 mile cycle

Vegan cubed, tiramisu croissant with coffee. Cycled 50 miles to try this place, and safe to say this fuelled the journey back too. It was definitely on the pricier side by worth it as a treat.

Pros: Vegan tiramisu cubed croissant, Fast service, Friendly staff

Cons: Price

Spoilt for choice with vegan options, savoury and sweet

This place is fantastic for vegan pastries and offers sweet and savoury goodies including macarons. They have sugar free and gluten free options too.
When I visited they were using Rude Health brand plant milks.

Pros: Choice of vegan options, Nice space

Cons: No soya milk, only oat, almond and coconut

Looks stunning

I ve been following Arapina on social media for a while and on visiting London this had to be my first port of call.
On entering the small cafe it looks amazing. Very instagrammable! I was so excited to be trying the pastries and ordered the pistachio croll, almond croissant and pain au chocolate along with a matcha latte for my daughter.
As a party of three we all tried a bit of each others order and all thought the same thing. Looks beautiful at a glance but on eating all the pastries were stale and a bit burnt. However, my sister enjoyed the flavour of the almond croissant but I found it too rich. The pistachio croll was rather stale and the cream inside was greasy. At £6.95 it’s rather expensive.

My daughter had the matcha latte which she wasn’t sure whether they used cow’s milk or not. I don’t recall whether the serving staff had asked for preference of milk and I guess we had assumed would be made from soya. Our mistake there, so make sure to state which milk you want on ordering. She left most of the latte as she hadn’t said anything to me at the time.

It’s such a shame it didn’t live up to expectations.

Pros: Looks beautiful

Cons: Stale pastries, On the burnt side, Pricey

So many fab options!

All I can say is wow! Been following this bakery on social media so when it came to staying in Greenwich I knew I had to stay near and visit and I was not disappointed.
We had the savoury mushroom and leek croissant (10/10), rainbow pasty (10/10), almond croissant (10/10), pistachio croll (10/10), cinnamon brioche (8/10), pear macaron (8/10), and a pumpkin pie (4/10).

We will definitely be back and I will be getting a croll again -the one I had was just perfection!

Cinnamon brioche was delicious

I went to the one in Greenwich market and it had a great vegan range of foods, including some savoury "crolls", mushroom sausage roll etc. I only had the cinnamon brioche and it was so good!

Decent enough

Don’t let the mixed reviews put you off checking this place out. There is enough interesting variety to make it worthwhile if you’re in the area. The coffee is decent and the vegan pastries I had were above average. Strange location though.

Wouldn't recommend

I was excited to see that there was a café with many vegan options just around the corner from where I live, but was disappointed by my first visit.
The pastry I chose (raspberry croll) was stale and tasted like it had been baked the day prior. I'm also *pretty sure* that the iced latte I ordered didn't come with oat milk (despite my repeating it twice) but whole milk...
Not sure if I just went on a bad day, but I won't be trying my luck again.

Best vegan french pastries in London

This place definitively deserves a recognition. The pastries are awesome and big, and most of them are vegan! Truly recommended.
