Nice ambience - Edit
Lovely deco, prices at 95-120baht on the mid/high side but food comes in a very substantial portion. We ordered the Eggplant miso dish which was a little too oily but overall good and could taste the original taste of the eggplant. The Hang-Le Northern Thai Curry had a nice taste but was way way too salty, to the extend that we had to ask for it to be diluted with some hot water, even then it was still too salty. The waiter politely obliged and in general the staff were nice. The Anjahn juice which is the Butterfly Blue Pea flower drink was delicious.

upstairs vego restaurant with great food - Edit
I called in for lunch and ordered my favourite dish, massaman curry with brown rice ... great presentation of the food and the quality was really very good and the serving portion was large ... a clean, cool resturant with nice friendly staff ... this was my second visit as they were full on my first visit this week

Probably Best Pad Thai Ever! - Edit
We went there for dinner, everybody was so friendly! We ordered our food and we did wait a considerable time though, I may have been a tad bit hungry before. We got the Pad Thai and it was out of this world! The staff spoke much better English than any other Thai restaurant we had went to. Overall, I absolutely loved it. They didn't lie, "You won't even miss the meat". Spoiler Alert: We didn't.

The best place - Edit
Great place with plenty of vegan options marked on the vegetarian menu. Eggplant red curry, massaman and Indian curry was all absolutely amazing. Brown rice for free, 120baht for curry. We also tried the Stirfry vegetable and it was the best one I ever had.

Interesting twist to Thai dishes! - Edit
The Anchan Pad Thai Noodles were on the menu the day I went, so I ordered them and was surprised when a plate of PURPLE noodles was suddenly in front of me ! Apparently the noodles were coloured with a type of flower - which was cool. Of course the dish was delectable and I enjoyed sitting on their balcony reading.

Wonderful food - Edit
A little out from the centre of town but worth the effort. The menu changes daily so you could be in for anything. The panang curry was outstanding, with a higher standard than most Thai restaurants in Chiang Mai. It appeared as though a lot of thought and care went into making their dishes.

Awesome food ! - Edit
One of my favorite restaurant in Chiang Mai. Everything is freshly made, the food is tasty, the menu change every week with new dishes. The staff is very friendly and the price are really correct. The restaurant is located on the first floor on a quiet street, it's an open space so no cold airconditioning. Deserve 6 stars. :)

great pad thai - Edit
This place was great. I ordered the pad thai and a mango smoothie which were both great. The pad thai tasted healthier than other pad thais in a good way with delicious mushrooms and tofu and fresh veggies as well. The mango smoothie was delicious and sweet and tasted like they used high quality mangoes.

Everything we've tried at Anchan has been delicious. Wait staff is friendly and helpful. I love the stir-fried veggies, but they also have a curried fried rice which is wonderful. Soups are filling, and the curries are wonderful.

Misled not *vegan as specified - Edit
We went here and ordered the marked *vegan thai omelette. Spoke to the staff to ensure that it was in fact VEGAN and they reassured that it was vegan and that there are no eggs used. However, the dish was undoubtedly made with eggs. We took the dish over to the cook who confirmed that it was in fact made with egg and that he made it wrong. WTF!!!! You have a dish that is marked *vegan on the menu and the wait staff also assure you that its vegan and then the cook admits that he made it wrong. We did not get an apology. The cook was angry that we didn't want to pay for it. Such an awful experience, avoid at all costs.

Yummy but overpriced - Edit
Anchan has a very small menu (one page, no pictures) compared to most veg restaurants in Chiang Mai, and it changes regularly. All vegan options are labeled. It is located on a street off of Nimmanhaeminda, just out of earshot of the buzzing traffic. Simple ambiance. I got the miso eggplant dish with brown rice. The food was very good, but expensive (I paid over 100 baht for what you can get elsewhere for 60-70), but this is something to be expected in this part of the city.

Delicious food in a relaxed ambiance - Edit
Anchan is a nice vegetarian restaurant in the Nimman area of Chiang Mai that offers many clearly-marked vegan options. The restaurant is very ex-pat friendly and the menus are all in English. I tried the eggplant miso stir fry, crispy mushroom with tofu sauce, and the crispy mushroom thai salad and it was all delicious.

We'll definitely go back to this restaurant to try their curries and weekly menu. We ordered a Masamam and an Indian Style curries and both of them were tasty and delicious. Even though the portions were fairly big, we managed to order their homemade raw chocolate truffles. Definitely excellent!!!

Great flavors and cooked to perfection - Edit
This is a very authentic natural food restaurant which lists all which they do to keep their food healthy such as the oil they use, the use of Himalayan Salt in their cooking, the use of fresh veggies etc. What is really amazing as that they cook without overcooking and hence you can taste the difference in the crunchiness of the vegetables. Also, they are very competent with how they use their spices to make their food so very flavorful.
Read morePros: Use Himalayan Salt, Great flavors, Crunchy vegetables not overcooked
Cons: Still use tofu, Food comes a little slow
