Amazing

One of my favorite places for vegetarian food. The curry and the soy Banh Mi is so good I always take an extra home for lunch the next day. Spicy veggie pho is also my favorite. Would definitely recommend!

Good prices and friendly people working there also.

Pros: Delicious food, Good atmosphere , Casual, down to earth

Moderate

I’m writing this review because this spot was recommended as vegan friendly on Google and in a local groups but we found their knowledge of vegan/vegetarian lacking.

We clarified when ordering from the vegetarian menu section that we are vegan and they confirmed it was okay but our veggie spring rolls came with a non-vegetarian dipping sauce (fish sauce).

Typically Vietnamese restaurants that cater to vegans make a version that doesn’t have the fish sauce in it. There was no replacement given and to be clear, we were polite in asking and they were apologetic about the error. However I don’t think understanding was there that this sauce shouldn’t be given if being ordered under the “vegetarian menu”.

Also, note that the tofu puffs (dishes are labeled with this) are actually soya TVP chunks, but they assured me as they dropped it off in the pho that it wasn’t beef, which was appreciated.

The pho was alright flavour and very noodle heavy. I’ve also never seen a broth this dark in a pho but I think that is probably due to how they flavour the TVP.

I didn’t try the banh mi but it can be made vegan minus mayo. Something for next time.

TLDR: Watch out for fish sauce with the rolls, not bad but not great food, the tofu dishes come with TVP instead of tofu.

Pros: Friendly service, Affordable

Cons: Watch out for animal products on veg menu
