Raw Vegan Organic Restaurant - Edit
Special raw vegan restaurant with nice food choices. All organic produce is harvested from their own land. We love it!

Great food, disappointing ambience - Edit
I can’t fault the food - the salad bar has great options, and the nachos that I tried were also delightful. However, the experience of the food isn’t the same when the ambience is flat. Full of many creative types working on their laptops, it feels a bit like an office block cafeteria - quite disappointing and disconnected from the overall energy of Ubud. The restaurant feels too clinical and missing the warmth that I find at vegan places (perhaps it’s because they serve honey that kills the energy here?).

One of the best - Edit
I love Alchemy and so does everyone else, even in low season, this place is usually pretty busy!
Read morePizza really hits the spot! Don't expect a normal pizza, it's all raw vegan! I like the spinach mushroom. The tacos and nachos are sooo good ! I've enjoyed their food tremendously over the last few years...sushi and quiche are also great! The desserts are amazing too, yummmm! I could probably order anything and not be disappointed . The salad bar is super awesome too, no waiting if you're in a hurry and their take out containers are made entirely from leaves. It's really the greatest !

Stylish, laid back vibe and large menu - Edit
Alchemy is one of those more exxy new-age Vegan hipster hangouts where all heads turn as you walk through the doors. That's fine - just stare back at 'em. 😉
Read moreThe menu is quite extensive and everything looks delicious and is done with style, but as others have already noted, get there early as many menu items will tend to run out as the day wears on. We arrived at 2pm on a Saturday and true to form, three things we ordered were no longer available (add in Galungan and Xmas/New Year falling in the same week, and you have a perfect storm).
The Breakfast Smoothie Bowls are great - step up and custom make your's from the Bar. No waiting, no disappointments.
The Nachos and Bruschetta are excellent, as are the drinks but for Soy fans, you'll be somewhat left out - your coffee and teas will need to feature only cashew or coconut milks some of the time at least.
Laid back, unhurried, attentive well trained staff and a quiet comfortable place that you can take your time with. If Alchemy is local to you, this could well be your regular everyday hangout while in Ubud.
Pros: Stylish, laid back interior and vibe, Extensive raw menu, Smoothie Bowl Bar
Cons: Runs out of popular items quickly

We actually went to this restaurant a year ago now and just loved it. Great choice and delicious food. The restaurant also had a small area of vegan friendly items including food and clothes.

Amazing amazing raw food restaurant! Go early though as they often run out of menu items by the end of the day. Entirely soy free and so many gluten free options makes this place a dream to eat when having alimentary requirements!

Awesome! - Edit
Alchemy was on our recommendation list and it did not dissapoint! We went there for breakfast and had the smoothie bowls from the smoothie bar. Great concept and so fun to design your own bowl. Tasted awesome too. The coffee is also one of the best we had and the whole vibe is just so chill. One of our favorites in Ubud.

NOT VEGAN, One star-happy cow it's not fully vegan (why it says two stars?) - Edit
List their foods as vegan yet there's honey in them. I assume they don't realize that the beekeepers burn the bees, and that the bees make honey for their own food but we take their food, the honey. I'll never go back here and I expect any so called vegan to never go here.

Lovely place - Edit
The food at Alchemy was very good, I had the Cannelloni dish. I highly recommend ordering the veggie basket (appetizer), the cashew ‘cheese’ dip is amazing! I also had the ‘Popeye’ smoothie with a bamboo straw:) The staff was friendly and helpful. They also have a nice shop with vegan snacks and reusable straws and bamboo toothbrushes. Unfortunately the toothbrushes were sold out:( Only thing I didn’t like was that they only had really healthy options (excluding the ice cream and desserts). Sometimes I crave a good vegan burger and fries, but I couldn’t get that here. Well, maybe it’s the concept of the restaurant: being healthy. And there is nothing wrong with that:D

Some reviewers seem to be knocking the fact that everyone is looking at their laptops but I think it gives it a nice relaxed vibe. More importantly the food was delicious and I ordered two desserts.

LOVE this place! - Edit
This is a little gem of a place in crazy busy Ubud. The decor and vibe is lovely and the staff are nice. My husband and I went there almost every morning while in Ubud to enjoy their smoothies (my fav is the peaches n cream) and their generous smoothie bowls (the chocolate and caramel sauce is sooo good!). We tried their raw pizza and summer rolls and even tho it was delicious, we think the value for your money is much better when you order fruit. They’re coffee is good, matcha latte and turmeric latte are just ok. Oh and the granola they sell is so good! I am heading back to Ubud tomorrow and can’t wait to enjoy an other delicious smoothie bowl, yummm.

Raw Food in Ubud - Edit
Alchemy has a large raw, vegan menu. We went there for dinner and breakfast during our stay in Ubud, as it was very close to where we were staying. The place is big.
Read moreWe tried the Caesar salad, spinach mushroom quiche, and Aloha pizza as well as some smoothies. The salad was very fresh and delicious. The pizza and quiche were okay, but not amazing. The smoothies were tasty. They offer a salad bar and breakfast bar.
We got the smoothie bowls for breakfast, where you can choose a smoothie, fruits, and toppings. The servings of fruit were very generous, although it would be nice to be able to choose more toppings.
Overall, it's a nice place, but a bit expensive and there are some better options nearby.
Pros: Nice drinks, Lots of options
Cons: A bit overpriced

slightly limited menu - Edit
When we visited they didn’t have half of the things listed as ‘mains’ on the menu. Having said that the food was had was very tasty. They have a large selection of sweet treats to eat as well. I found the layout a bit cavernous-I prefer more intimate restaurants.

Mega extra expensive - Edit
No! Unfortunately I cannot say many positive things about this place. It is a raw food restaurant set in a white aseptic décor (great aesthetics but no soul), sprinkled with Westerners working at their computer or looking at their phones. So far so good. The worst was that the portions are incredible small. The make-it-yourself salad (which they will make for you instead) was kind of empty, four leaves of greens and 4 small toppings (the maximum you are allowed to take before you pay extra) and one dressing (by the way nearly all the dressings contain honey so if you are vegan you are not left with lots of choices). I was so disappointed especially for the price I paid. In Ubud you can find much better choices both vegan and raw, like The Seeds of life, which is a bit cheaper with much more generous portions (the salads there are huge and tasty and filling). Here they also have a shop where they sell healthy/yoga/spiritual related products which are more expensive than the ones you find in Europe. Shameful. I mean some incense sticks for the equivalent of 5 euros?? Where were they made? If you go to any other place you can get them for 50 cents. It’s the capitalization of health and spirituality, which should be accessible to everyone but here the only person who is benefiting heavily from it is the owner who opened a business in Bali and applied Western prices to it. Smart maybe but not ethical. The quality was good but it doesn’t make up for the lack of ethics displayed by this place.

go for the salad - Edit
Delicious raw organic salad bar with lots of choices. My favourite is the sesame miso dressing.
Read moreConfused by several reviewers who claim Alchemy is expensive. The salad is HUGE - and a comparable price to other similar restaurants in Ubud (kafe, clear, etc.) and one of the best salad options in town.
I want to try the desserts but I'm always full from the salad.

Cons: The use of honey is clearly labelled, but it would

Delicious but expensive - Edit
The Alchemy is a bit outside of Ubud, close to one of the best yoga studios: Intuitive Flow. We went there twice. The food options are incredible, so many yummy desserts, smoothies, main courses. Definitely try the pizza. It is very expensive though. There is a small shop included where you can find superfoods etc.

They use honey! - Edit
The food is really good but be sure to check which dishes contain honey. I spoke with the staff regarding the fact they use honey in their dishes and sell honey too but they didn't understand what I was saying when I informed them honey isn't vegan. However, when visiting Bali 2 years previous I mentioned it also then, and the lady I spoke with said "yes we've been told" but they continue to use honey. It's a shame because you think you can eat anything off the menu when you go in there the first time. Would have given it 5 stars if it didn't serve honey. Breakfasts there are amazing!!

Great for breakfast - Edit
Raw food really isn't my thing so I didn't try eating lunch or dinner at Alchemy but I loved the breakfast smoothie bowl bar. They have a great range of smoothies, fruits and toppings to choose from and i loved the turmeric coconut whipped cream and the chocolate granola. The perfect way to start the day. The cashew milk cold brew is excellent too. My only issue is that when you ask if everything's vegan they say yes even though honey is used in some menu items.

Not great - Edit
I like that it is raw, vegan and tasty, but in my opinion overpriced and I don't like the vibes - too modern and 'white like a hospital', you don't feel the exotic vibes... Everywhere hipsters with Macbooks, felt like in London, and the prices similar as well.
