UNBELIEVABLE! SO much food! - Edit
My wife and I ate so much here. They have multiple menus with so much to choose from. It’s always very overwhelming (in the best way) when you’re Vegan and can eat anything on the menu. We got the matcha beer and lemon beers. They were good! The lemons were grown locally in Hiroshima. We were debating getting one of the courses but decided to make our own. We got the vegetable tortilla rolls, cold tofu noodles in creamy mala sesame sauce, teriyaki deep-fried soy chicken on rice, and the heavenly pancakes! It was all great! Honestly, the heavenly pancakes are not lying. They really stole the show. We need to figure out how to make these at home now. They were so fluffy and perfect. All of the other dishes were phenomenal too. It’s the type of place with LOTS of options and you can’t go wrong with any of them. Get what you’re feeling! Share! Try a lot! We had such a great time.

Good food, excruciatingly slow service - Edit
The staff was kind, the place itself has a relaxing vibe and the food was good, but the service was shockingly slow. It took 10 minutes for the waitress to take our order, 30 minutes to get the teriyaki bowl and 45 minutes for my family’s three vegan burgers to arrive. The place was not packed (we arrived 10 minutes after opening time), but it’s small so I think food prep just takes a long time. Bottom line: if you want to try this place, don’t squeeze it in before you have to be somewhere at a specific time, like we did. (The waitress apologized for the wait.) As for the food,, the teriyaki bowl was a bit too salty for my taste and we didn’t have time for dessert so I didn’t get to try the pancakes.

Hi. Thank you very much for coming to our restaurant. We appreciate your honesty and we apologize for the long waiting. We recently are understaffed and today 2nd floor/basement was also full. Sorry for the uncomfortable experience. We hope to see you again.

Heavenly Pancakes are all that! - Edit
We had a very nice dinner here! It is simple, fresh, delicious. Service was excellent. My wife who is also gluten free had plenty of good options and LOVED the Heavenly Pancakes. While different than a traditional pancake - the are fantastic, especially for being gluten free. Highly recommend!

I like that they have brown rice and I liked the curry. But the cutlets were very pale and sad. A bit overpriced

Tasty Vegan Food - Edit
Lots of yummy vegan meal options. We had the teriyaki tofu and a burger, and the crème brûlée and the nut brownie. Everything tasted amazing. They do good matcha too.

Great quality food, a little pricey - Edit
I persuaded a bunch of omnivores to come here and was nervous about how they would react to an all-vegan restaurant. Thankfully the food turned out to be delicious and everyone was happy. The prices are on the high side, but the food is good quality. When I arrived, it seemed quite small but there are supposedly two floors. We got a table without reservations but the place looked busy. This place is located in the heart of Shinjuku, Tokyo which is a very lively and bustling place.

Not at all worth the hype - Edit
Probably the worst food we had in Tokyo. Outstandingly boring and bland, and the “pancakes” they’re known for taste nothing like a pancake at all?!?!

This is a great place! Come and eat here. Lots of different choices on the menu and everything is vegan. I had a lovely fresh salad this time but must come back again to try one of the burgers. I also had the craft ginger ale which was very refreshing. Highly recommended.

Incredible food and service - highly recommended - Edit
We just arrived from Canada and had been traveling for 24 hours. We were beat and hungry.

We were greeted promptly by a smiling face, ushered upstairs to a lovely warm open room, and seated immediately. Our waiter was attentive and sweet; the kitchen team had our food to us in a jiffy. We enjoyed a pasta dish, a salad parfait, and a tofu quiche. Everything was delicious and fresh!
Sadly, there was no room for dessert this visit, but we'll be back again before we leave.

Thoroughly enjoyable vegan restaurant in the middle of Shinjuku - Edit
Great vegan options with lots of variety, great service and a good location. I got the pasta Bolognese with a salad and my guest got the deep fried teriyaki soy chicken wings with mushrooms ajillo. We were both happy with our selection.

For this price only okay - Edit
Pretty pricey for an okay dish with no vegetables except a few leafs of salad. They have a 90 minute rule even if the restaurant is empty or even if you order more or the restaurant is closing soon anyways. Unfortunate example for unnecessary Japanese rules.. pancakes supposed to be great but didn’t have them. Won’t be back for dinner:(

Perfect place a vegan dining experience - Edit
We were staying in the Shinjuku and hence this place was on our bucket list. My family had the Green curry with rice, Taco rice and I tried the Teriyaki Deep soy with rice along with Karaage on the side. We liked all of them. The service was top class. Price wise I found it slightly on the higher side. But definitely worth it

I went back for the pancakes twice. They were soo good and very filling as a meal on their own. I don’t usually eat gluten free and still found these to be light and fluffy.

Not bad? - Edit
I feel bad given how much hype this place has gotten but I felt like it was just fine. I will say, if you want something different than a lot of the typical Japanese food, this might be a good spot to come so you can get something like a salad, wrap, hummus, etc.
Read moreWe had the teriyaki chicken, the karaage, and the green curry. All was tasty but not necessarily something I felt you needed to go out of your way for. We didn’t try the pancakes, so maybe that would have totally changed this review! 😜

Amazing but expensive - Edit
Absolutely love this place! AIN SOPH. Journey in Shinjuku is a completely vegan oasis in the middle of Tokyo. I had the teriyaki “meat” burger and it was insanely good — juicy, flavorful, and satisfying without being heavy. They’re also famous for their fluffy pancakes, and wow… they live up to the hype! Light, airy, and served with delicious vegan cream and syrup. The vibe is chill and stylish, with friendly staff who really seem to care. Whether you’re vegan or just curious, this place is a must-visit.

expensive - Edit
The pancake plate with matcha ice cream was delicious but really expensive especially for such a small quantity of food. Crème brûlée was also good, and hummus and chicken tenders were good as well. It was just all so expensive, they required a minimum order amount to allow us to stay, and they had a strict rule of 90 min at the table even when no one was waiting….

Great menu but it's expensive - Edit
In central Shinjuku and it's a hotspot for tourists so the food is expensive. They use meat substitutes. The teriyaki chicken was tasty but it didn't come with rice. The chicken cutlet didn't have much flavor and it came with rice. Their guacamole and vegan mayo were yummy too. Side dishes and desserts were pricy. Portion sizes were ok.

Come for the pancakes - Edit
I ended up going to this place twice, although to be honest the second time was out of convenience. So this was the first and last place I ate in Tokyo.
Read moreI ended up having the teriyaki both times because it turns out it's the only "dinner" option that doesn't seem very European. Sorry, It was certainly tasty and I think if I'd had it at home I would have been much more excited about it, but it was long from the top of my list compared to everything I ate in Tokyo. Given that I ate really well, I'm not complaining, but I hadn't traveled half way around the world to eat pasta.
The first time I went, I had the pancakes as well. They're not what I would call pancakes back home, but I couldn't care less about that because they were delicious and if that's what they call pancakes here, that's fine with me. I think I would have been very happy to come in the afternoon for a coffee and a plate of these as a special dessert. This place would probably be also great as a lunchtime option, albeit a bit of an expensive one.
I regret slightly not going for one of the lunch items (which I think were available in the evening too) just to try something different.
So it's 4 stars for me, well deserved if slightly unenthusiastic.
Pros: Pancakes
Cons: Lack of choice in Japanese options, A little pricey
