Since going vegan several years ago, pizza has been the only thing I have been unable to replicate. I have grown to like flat breads instead as vegan cheeses usually don't sit well with me. I tried their pepperoni, cheese, and white.
Read moreThe standard cheese pizza was good, definitely the best vegan cheese slice I have had, but again not really perfection, the texture of cheese continues to be a sore point for vegan pizza, its more fatty mush than an actual structure. The pepperoni was nice and the pepperoni was well done but again the cheese on it was more like mush.
For me the white pizza was where it was truly at, more in line with my love of flatbreads. Rather than being coated with vegan cheese, it had a really nice light oil layer, some harder shreaded cheese which was nice and REALLY good vegan ricotta. The vegan pizzas I have had that shine really are the ones that abandon the replication of cheese, and embrace vegan ricotta and oils. And man was this a good one.
I don't want to sound negative about their cheese slices either, again compared to any other one I have had, this was as good as I think is possible, its just that vegan cheese pizza is not entirely for me, even so I would rate the cheese slice an 8/10 -- the white on the other hand😲10/10 easy sauce.

Vegan Pizza by the Slice - Edit
After touring the Masonic Temple and Mütter Museum, my family had an appetite for quick and filling food. We found 20th street pizza with a pizza by the slice system that offered plenty of pizza to choose from. I had the haymaker and hot potato which were both outstanding. I was suspicious of the hot potato but it turned out fantastic! The White pizza was also very good and the cheese lover in my family didn't miss the real thing! They also offer calzones and cookies which we didn't get this time. Still a one-of-a-kind concept which I think was executed really well!

Read moreI was a huge fan of Blackbird Pizzeria, so when I found out about an affiliated pizzeria, I was excited to check it out. We ordered a few slices to be reheated. When we received them, they were overly blackened around the crust and parts of the cheese. I have never had a bad experience at Blackbird, so I would maybe give this place another try in the future. Also, I wished they did more than just pizza.

Mark is the owner who started 20th Street Pizza five years ago.
Cass was the cook who prepared the amazing pizza when I went there and Max worked in the front of the house. Both made me feel most welcome dining here.
It is awesome that an all vegan pizzeria exists serving up whole pies and pizza by the slice. The address is auspicious for it is 108 S. 20th St in Philly. Hours are Tues to Sun from 12pm to 9pm.
Each of the pizzas is made from scratch using naturally leavened dough, house-made tomato sauce, and the freshest local ingredients.

tbh after getting 19293929 ads for blackbird pizza being able to be shipped frozen to florida i was really hyped up to try it! it was good, don’t get me wrong! but idk it certainly wasn’t my fav pizza ever or close to it. the store was so dingy too idk i had just came from new york so i was used to going to fancy vegan restaurants i guess but idk. the rootbeer was really good!
