100% recommended

I came on a recommendation and left impressed. It was one of the few places where I found vegan alcapurria, and it was DIVINE. I went with my Puerto Rican husband and my mother-in-law, and they were both impressed by how perfectly they nailed the traditional Puerto Rican flavor—truly living up to their name, 100% Hecho de Plantas. I had La Mixta with sautéed “steak” and onions, and it was amazing. My husband had the avocado stuffed with arroz mamposteado (his favorite), and he said it was one of the best he’s had—second only to his grandma’s, of course. The place is also an art gallery, surrounded by beautiful artwork.
My only complaint is that they could make more of an effort to reduce plastic use—we were given individually wrapped plastic utensils. Other than that, the atmosphere and service were top-notch.

Pros: Food, Ambience, Service

Cons: Plastic utensils

Delicious but slow service

Edit: went again in July 2025 and had much faster and better service.

I loved the food and environment, I was just so disappointed to wait 50 minutes after ordering our food to be served. Seriously slow. The food was great but I wish they had warned us that there was almost an hour wait for the food.

So good

Wanted to try out a local 100% vegan restaurant so ordered through uber eats. Once I got my meal I actually had to go back and double check they were vegan, I was completely fooled. Would definitely order again!

Good vegan junk food

I was here yesterday for the second time in a few years. Just as I remembered, veganized versions of regular PR food with mock meats. Recommended.

Safe Haven, Delicious Food

Tonight was my 3rd visit this week on a short work trip. 100% HP has been a safe haven in San Juan, as I found it difficult to find many other filling options nearby. My 3 trips were delivery, dine-in, and pick up, and all three went smoothly! Staff was polite, knowledgeable, and bilingual with Spanish and English.

Between my visits, I tried the Maui Monster Burger (10/10), Triple slider HP de choriburger y maduro a la BBQ (10000/10, the sauce and seasoning was delicious), the chicken fajita quesadilla (8/10, my only "complaint" was too much chicken, not enough veggies), and a chocolate milkshake (10/10).

The menu is bigger in person than it is online - milkshakes are not listed for delivery/PU, my guess is because of the hot weather. I was able to order when picking up and the waitress happily made it for me.

Very grateful for this staple!

Pros: Large menu, 100% vegan, fun vegan decor inside, Location

Muy buen lugar en la ciudad. La carta es super amplia y todo lo que comimos estaba delicioso. Precios muy bien y las raciones también. El lugar está muy cool y el personal muy servicial también. Si estás en San Juan no dudes en ir

Room for improvement

During my most recent trip to Puerto Rico, we visited 100% HP on three different occasions. Of those 3 occasions, I would say only 1 of those visits was a pleasant one.

The Food:

The menu is so extensive and large that you can order anything from traditional boricua dishes such as stuffed avocados with tostones to international fare such as chikn' lo-mein to comfort food like hamburgers and sliders.

We had a bit of all of that throughout our 3 visits and my impression was is that they really play their strengths when it comes to the more carnivorous foods such as sliders and hamburgers with fries or onion rings.

The not so good were the stuffed avocado plates where the "beef" was too salty and the tostones lacked proper seasonings or sauces to dip the food in. The stuffed papa was also okay as the potato portion was very plain and required some salt to make it edible.

The space:

This restaurant has a very large footprint and is in the heart of Santurce. I loved all the ridiculous pro-vegan signage everywhere along with the odd and abstract art of vegan celebrities all around. It made for a comfortable eating experience and the restaurant was very spacious.

The BAD:

The front of house staff was EXTREMELY RUDE despite the restaurant not being busy and approaching them with respect & compassion. In particular, one staff member because visibly and verbally upset during our first visit when I requested a few more napkins and that request was ignored so I attempted to grab them myself.

The 3rd time, this same staff member did not attend our table but I did have to approach her once about getting a to-go container for our food and she paused to look at me and roll her eyes. No response when I said thank you and just walked away while putting her airpods in her ear to avoid any further interactions with me.

Overall: 100% HP is a vegan haven for afternoon vegans in Puerto Rico as they have a lot of food that beats other options at that hour (burger king impossible meals) but the menu can benefit from being cut in half so they can focus more the quality of other meals. I feel very strongly about eating / being served food by individuals who have a disdain for you so I am unsure if I would visit 100% HP again on my will, especially if there are other options available.

Pros: Open when most vegan places are closed, Great burgers and milkshakes, Eccentric design for the restaurant space

Cons: Front of house staff! Extremely rude, Quantity over quality for the menu

Good food, super rude staff

Good food, but super rude staff. Went on a Friday night and was not busy at all and based on how we were treated not surprised at all.

Edit: I posted this before reading the other reviews: multiple reviews complain about the rudeness of the staff as well. We were very kind to everybody, always thanking them profusely, tipped 20%, didn’t complain or ever bother them while we waited. If you ask me to tip, then I ask for you to be a kind person to me as well.

Uber Eats Delivers

I don't have a rental car because I'm only here for a few days as a mini vacation treat to myself.

The hotel I'm staying at has some vegan food, but it isn't exciting or Puerto Rican at all.

I looked on Uber Eats and saw that 100% HP was on there so I ordered a couple of things.

They were delicious! I got the La Mixta HP and that was so delicious. The mock meat had a good texture and flavor that was irresistible. I poured the beans over the rice because I didn't have a spoon (hopefully that isn't something offensive to do in PR culture 😬). And I really enjoyed that as well. I had never had PR food before and it's great exploring the culinary culture with traditional foods made vegan.
I also had the Relleno de papa. The outside was very crispy and the inside of the potato was very soft. The relleno de papa is really filling and the definition of comfort food.

I will definitely be eating here the rest of my trip, even if it's only through Uber Eats. I'd love to see the actual restaurant too.

Pros: Delivery option through Uber eats , Huge portions , Flavorful

Delicious oasis in a sea of meat

Had the rice stuffed avocado with tostones. Bet filling, very flavorful, and avoids the fake meat /cheese that can be so easy to fall back on. (I'm sure those are good too, though.)

Pros: Flavors, Local beers, Price reasonable

Great food with a big menu

We went twice during our visit to San Juan, because the food was good and there were so many different options. They have lots of Puerto Rican style dishes that we'd never gotten to try before (e.g. tostones, pastel, faux-conch, ...).

Decent service, with a nice big space that has some cool murals and paintings

Pros: Large and varied menu, Unique atmosphere

Plant based spot that targets carnivores

Plenty of options, as vegan it’s unclear what’s vegan vs what’s vegetarian though. Mock meat primarily was ok. The other stuff was tasty (rice beans tostonos avocado etc)

Pros: Plenty of options , Decent serving size

Cons: “Meat” flavor was ok , Service was mediocre

Big menu, great taste!

In San Juan on holiday, we’ve been to 100% HP twice already and will likely return before our trip is over. They have tons of choices. Great vegan versions of local dishes, some burgers and things like that as well. Friendly staff, and nice ambience with some space dedicated to art.

Rice & pigeon peas got better. (It used to be a bit undercooked)

The arroz con 🇵🇷gandules needs to be cooked more, as it is a little bit undercooked, but in flavor, is good.

[Edit]: the arroz con gandules got improved. 😉👍🏽

impossible meat is unhealthy

the flavors are delicious hence the rating. However impossible meat (which is in almost every dish) is not a healthy food item. i recommend abbots chorizo or ground beef.

Our restaurant has a specific purpose. We Fool Carnivores. We believe Impossible is healthier than what carnivores eat. It is delicious and has been recently certified as safe in Europe which is pretty difficult as you know. Are menu is specifically designed for carnivores. Thanks for your comment we are very glad you loved our food. ❤️

But the reason to eat here isnt because we are wanting to eat healthy food. Vegans eat unhealthy vegan junk food sometimes because of sensory pleasure and most importantly, we are not exploiting sentient animals. You should go watch Dominion on YouTube. Cause it seems you are only eating a Plant-Based diet to be or feel healthier, but that isnt what being Vegan is about. Vegan is FOR THE ANIMALS (not health or environment) = The first-hand victims.

Large Menu - Lacked Seasoning

The menu has no explanation of local dishes. So study menu prior if not sure.

Food was fine, but lacked seasoning! We had to ask for hot sauce to get some flavor. There is plenty of variety represented.

Pros: Large menu, It's all vegan :)

Cons: No seasoning!, No explanation of local cuisine

Great location on artsy Calle Cerra with a good selection of vegan Puerto Rican options. Take-away or eat in, inside or outside, possible. It’s right next to Matcha Muchacha where they serve matcha drinks with plant-based options.

A great place to try veganized Puerto Rican food

A cool artistic space to enjoy some veganized Puerto Rican foods and burgers. Other than the rice and beans plate, the rest of the food is fried/fast food style. The food was really flavored well, especially the mock meat items.
